About

Hi! My name is Sigi and I am an occupational therapist with a background in pelvic floor health. I am also a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor. I combine these disciplines together to help women reach their fitness and wellness goals througout their various phases of life, including pregnancy, postpartum and menopause. I also offer Yoga for Fertility to help women optimize their chances of conception.

Fitness really begins with posture, alignment, mobility and stability. When any one of these areas are off balance it can affect the entire kinetic chain from the head down to the toes. These imbalances could potentially lead to pelvic floor dysfunction, injury, pain and more. In order to create more balance in the body and increase strength, it is essential to begin with the core, and the core actually begins with the pelvis!

The pelvis is designed for pregnancy, childbirth, continence, sexual function and it transfers load from the upper body to the lower body. Throughout my studies, the more I learn about the pelvis, the more I see it’s remarkable impact on the rest of the body. The influence of the pelvis will affect birth, pelvic floor health, postpartum recovery and optimal strength to the rest of the body. With all of this in mind, observing the pelvis can give me a whole body perspective on imbalances that might be occuring from the neck all the way down to the toes. This is why I begin every fitness assessment with the pelvis and this is what inspired me to build my practice that I now call Pelvic Health and Fitness.

What is occupational therapy?

"Occupations" refers to daily routines, hobbies and skills that gives a person purpose, meaning, pleasure and independence. Socialization, driving, playing with or caring for kids, sexual function, exercising or dining with friends are all examples of occupations. Occupations also include hobbies and activities of daily living (ADL's), such as, dressing, toileting and household chores. Symptoms of pain, pelvic floor dysfunction or injuries can all interfere with one's occupations. Occupational therapy uses a holistic approach to get to the root of the problem that interferes with one's daily occupations so you can restore your body and regain independence and quality of life. It is my passion to bring this holistic approach to fitness so not only are you working toward your fitness goals, but you are addressing your overall wellness.

My mission is to empower and educate women about their bodies so they can learn how to optimize strength and wellness through expert coaching and tailored fitness programs.
